Brother Stanley Gilmore has been at LifeSong for 15 years and just recently became licensed to preach and became our Teaching and Outreach Pastor.
Why we do what we do...
Stanley Gilmore
The “call” to pastoral ministry is a call from God that is laid upon an individual’s heart. This call comes from a desire to do the Lords work more than any other type of work. For me, this desire is to be a help to an individual in their pursuit of a personal relationship with God. Also, there is a heartfelt desire to help people understand what discipleship (a daily walk with God) truly is. Within the pastoral ministry, whether it be in the role of senior pastor, associate pastor, youth pastor or teaching pastor etc..., as with any other profession, there are disappointments and difficulties that will occur. Knowing these difficulties will come along, and our faith tested, it gives us opportunity to total rely on God for our guidance and delivery. Along with sharing the love of Christ, helping others discover that God is real and does love them, is what brought me into pastoral ministry.
